About
In this blog I explore ideas and issues that I have become interested in since living and working in Thailand. I’m not Thai, so I accept that I see Thailand from the perspective of a ’Western’ male.
I am interested in a broad range of areas related to Thailand, especially in the areas of society, economic development, politics, history, lifestyle and ‘culture’. These are the themes of my writing.
You are probably wondering why yet another blog about Thailand when there are already numerous internet sites with writers churning out thousands of words a day. To my mind, a good deal of what is written is thoughtful, insightful and informative, but frankly there are some gaps and, in some cases, a disturbing lack of balance. This is why I have decided to provide a space for my own thoughts.
Your comments are very welcome, but contributions will be moderated before publication.
I look forward to feedback from those of you who, like myself, have a genuine interest in Thailand, its peoples and its ways of life.

A Note about the Banner Photographs
The main banner shows Wat Rakang, viewed from Bangkok’s Chaopraya River. The side banner photograph is of Wat Pichayayattikaram Woraviharn, located in Klong San district, also on the Thonburi side of the Chaopraya River.
